Summer Lovin’

Hi there guys,

Gosh it has been ages since I did a post and I’m sorry for being so flaky. However I do have a really good excuse – I got married!! *Happy dance* So leading up to the wedding things got so hectic I didn’t really have time for social media and blogging. It was all wedding mode. Then we had a mini honeymoon afterwards with our visiting family and friends from overseas, and it was so much fun!!

Now things are back to normal, it’s back to the grind – but there is still a silver lining! It’s Christmas time, my absolute favourite time of the year. So what better time to get back to chatting with you guys.

It is also summer time here in South Africa, so I wanted to share two pieces I ordered online recently and am loving at the moment.

This first piece is a culotte jumpsuit, in a navy and white stripe.

I got it on Superbalist, by the brand DailyFriday. It retails for R299. It is the perfect combination of viscose and spandex for that soft and comfy feel. I love how it has both vertical and horizontal stripes to spice things up and also keep it flattering. I paired mine on this day with a white tee, denim jacket and white sneakers for chilled look.

However it’s also nice to just pair it with some summer sandals or even some cute heels if you want to dress it up. Stripes + jumpsuit = major summer winner this season.

The next thing I tried out was this boxy cut, check print shirt.

I wasn’t sure if this boxy cut would be unfaltering for my shape, as it can make you look a bit bigger on top, and I’m already bottom heavy. However was pleasantly surprised! If paired with the right pieces it looks really cute on, and I actually get so many compliments when I wear it. It’s an easy throw on piece, pair with some chilled jeans or a skirt like I did. Then throw on some sneakers to be summer laid back, or add some heels to vamp it up a notch. I got it off of Superbalist as well, and also by the band DailyFriday. It sells for R249.

I kept my outfit very monochrome this day so decided to pop on a bold lip to add a bit of oomph to the overall look.

So basically it pays to try things out of your comfort zone sometimes. Sometimes it might flop, but you might just be surprised. I was also worried the jumpsuit might make me feel like a whale and reveal too many lumps and bumps…but it is so comfy and I actually feel great in it.Curves and all 🙂 So new things = winner this time.

Hope you guys will go off and try new trends and find some cute things that you thought you never would like.

Happy shopping and have a very festive week and weekend!

Chat to you all soon.
